Herzog Fox & Neeman (HFN) was founded over 40 years ago as a boutique firm aiming to provide high quality legal services to international clients doing business in Israel. Since then, HFN has grown to become Israel's premier law firm, with over 215 lawyers, of whom more than 75 are partners. A significant portion of HFN's lawyers are qualified to practise in overseas jurisdictions as well as in Israel, or have spent periods of time practising in some of the world's leading law firms. Corporate

HFN's Corporate practice is the largest and one of the most high-profile practices in the Israeli marketplace. The department includes a large contingent of foreign qualified practitioners working alongside some of Israel's leading corporate lawyers.
 
M&A: HFN is widely regarded as the leading Israeli firm advising companies on all issues of corporate law, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions (private and public), strategic engagements, corporate restructuring and other business activities.
 
Capital Markets: In the area of capital markets, HFN advises on public offerings and private placements in Israel, the US and Europe, representing Israeli and multinational companies, investors, issuers and underwriters in placing securities on stock exchanges around the world. HFN represents and advises Israel's major asset management companies, investment houses, mutual funds and provident funds in their ongoing activities.
 
Commercial Law: HFN offers comprehensive advice to Israeli enterprises and to multinational corporations with a presence in Israel on all legal matters relating to their commercial activities. The department acts as advisors for strategic planning and addresses all matters as they arise in the course of conducting business operations in Israel.
 
Hi-tech: HFN is a leader in the Hi-tech sector, active in establishing and representing venture capital and private equity funds, and in successfully accompanying start-up companies from early stage to significant exit. Banking and Finance

The Banking and Finance Practice is one of the firm's more diversified practices and is the largest dedicated finance practice in Israel. The practice is regarded as the clear market leader, representing major global financial institutions, including most of the foreign banks active in Israel. The practice includes corporate finance, derivatives and financial products, regulatory issues, loan transactions, acquisition financing and structured financing.
 
Insolvency and Restructuring: HFN provides advice on a full range of corporate restructuring issues and insolvency proceedings including workouts, asset sales, bankruptcy trustee appointments, receivership and bankruptcy litigation, corporate liquidations, exchange offers, consent solicitations, renegotiation of credit agreements with bank syndicates and other lenders, and loan and debt restructurings.
 
Infrastructure and Project Finance: HFN's Project Finance department has been involved in all of Israel's most significant infrastructure development and project finance transactions. The team represents bidders, concessionaires and lenders in Israel's main national and multinational projects. These include toll roads, light railways, desalination plants, telecommunications systems, and other transportation facilities.

Tax

HFN has the strongest Tax practice of any law firm in Israel. The Tax practice is pre­eminent due to the scope of its work, its expertise in international tax planning and its influence on Israel's tax regime. HFN's tax lawyers have long been involved in structuring major international transactions, as well as obtaining landmark tax rulings which have shaped Israel's Hi-tech and venture capital industry.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

With over 50 lawyers, HFN's Litigation and Dispute Resolution department is among the largest in the country. The Department specialises in handling disputes in Israel involving an international or multi-jurisdictional element, disputes involving foreign litigants, and high-profile class action suits. Areas of practice include: civil litigation, arbitration, mediation and white collar crime white collar crime and corporate corruption.
