• Steel sector – through Packer Steel Industries Ltd. The company has held 100%, Packer Construction Steel Ltd. The company has held 100% since August 2011, and through Apogey Group operating in Russia, in which the company has held 65%.
• Ceramics sector – through Negev Ceramics Ltd., in which the company owns 100%.
In addition, the company has full shareholders equity in Koa - Gaz 100% (registered in Russia), which operates an industrial park in Kraskovo in the Lyubertsy district of Moscow. Koa - Gaz owns a complex for manufacturing and loading construction and infrastructure materials, covering an area of 26 hectares of private land in Lyubertsy (Moscow), with buildings and infrastructures that include assembly lines and engine systems, links to electricity lines and natural gas, an energy center serving the needs of the complex, wells for drinking water and water for use by industrial and other equipment.
Africa Israel Industries Ltd. was founded in 1958 and is traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The company is controlled by the Africa Israel Investments Group Ltd. (76.6%).
Africa Israel Group employs 2,300 workers.
Steel Sector
The company operates in the steel sector through its holdings in Packer Steel Industries Ltd. and its holdings in Packer Construction Steel, and via its holdings in Apogey Group, in Russia, which the company owns 65%.
Packer Steel and the companies it holds are engaged in the sale of raw materials to Israel's metals industry. Packer Steel operates five sites located in different parts of Israel. Packer Steel's activities include distributing manufacturing and processing a wide range of metals in various forms including production of pipe and profiles, processing of flat products, rods, galvanizing and painting metal products, production and marketing of greenhouses, import and marketing of complementary metal products in the electronic equipment and lamppost sectors.
Packer Construction Steel
In 2011, Africa Israel Industries began operating in the field of construction iron as a result of the acquisition of operations and investment in additional equipment. The new company is highly synergetic with group activities.
Packer Steel Group employs about 1,000 workers.
Similarly, Africa Israel Industries has holdings in the Apogey group, active in Russia in the field of trade and cutting of steel: precision steels, steel tools and metals, through the 14 branches that it owns in Western Russia. Apogey Group employs about 350 workers.
In addition, the company operates in the international steel and quality metals trading sector through Earlsfield Steels Ltd., a fully owned company registered in Cyprus.
Ceramics Sector
The company operates in the ceramics sector, through its holdings in Negev Ceramics Ltd., the largest company in Israel's home and environmental design sector. Negev Ceramics imports, markets and distributes international brands and local products, and manufactures porcelain tiles for floors and wall coverings. Negev Ceramics markets a wide range of building finishing products, including porcelain tiles and glass fittings, for floors and wall coverings, manufactured in the company's Yerucham ceramics factory. Negev Ceramics also markets imported ceramics, granite and porcelain products, marble, parquet, sanitary ware, faucets, bathroom accessories, glues and complementary products.
Negev Ceramics markets its products through a number of distribution channels: The company's independent retail chain of 11 stores • A national distribution network of traders • A national distribution network for projects • An export network.
The company uses unique and innovative technique of digital printing according to customer's special requests, and also printing special brands such as Disney. Negev Ceramics expanded its activity by acquiring the Via Arkadia-Super Ceramic Company and by acquiring a controlling interest in the Orgal Company, the distributors of Grohe faucets.
Negev Ceramics employs a staff of approximately 900 workes.
