Leading Factors in the Company’s Strategy

Termokir strives to improve the Israeli construction industry through three key factors: technology, quality, and sustainability. The combination of these factors has proven itself in the successful implementation of tools and capabilities arising from the latest know-how in the construction industry and tailored to the local market’s needs, customers, and sustainability requirements

Technology

Since its inception, the Company has been recognized as a local leader in technology and innovation, based on European knowledge, collaborating with leading local knowledge bodies such as the Technion, the National Institute for Construction Research, Ben-Gurion University, and the Israel Standards Institute. These factors have been translated into providing value to Israeli industry by developing an advanced product line based on local production, tailored to the needs of the construction industry and providing an optimal response to the Middle Eastern climate. Thus, during the 1980s, Termokir pioneered the development of the industrialized powder industry (Dry Mix) in Israel.

Termokir works to bridge the gap between the existing capabilities of the traditional construction industry and the worlds of technology and innovation. An example of this is “Termokir 601 AD” – a dedicated, flexible cement adhesive developed as a solution to the market’s changing needs. In the case before us, “absorbent tiles” (in which the water absorption is greater than 10%) were arched during gluing, which led to their cracking. The product developed to solve this problem: a unique adhesive bearing Israeli Standard 4004 and the Green Mark, which allows interior cladding with “absorbent tiles” on various substrates.

Termokir has recently started marketing products using gel technology that give the product unique properties; for example, “SAKRET AD 613 GEL” – a unique cement adhesive for gluing large tiles, the innovative gel technology provides the glue with unique properties required for gluing huge tiles.

Quality
The Company’s overall quality perception is related to product quality and service quality. In terms of service quality, the Company places the customer at the center, completely responding to his needs and promoting the “system perception” – an advanced model for the Company’s involvement with the customer and the project. The concept includes working along the construction process from the initial planning stage–mapping the required systems through a commercial solution, the supply chain, professional training in the field, service, and responsibility until project end.
In terms of product quality, the systems include treatment of the elements of the structure – from the infrastructure to the finishing layer – based on relevant standards in Israel and around the world and the construction methods used in the country. The Company’s products undergo strict quality control at every stage of their production process. The Company regularly improves its products, develops new products that meet the most stringent European and Israeli standards, and stands out for their quality. As proof, since 2010, the Company has continuously won the prestigious “Diamond Badge” from the Israel Standards Institute for meeting seven quality standards: the badge mark, the green mark, quality management, and service mark – ISO 9001, the safety and health management mark – ISO 45001, environmental management mark – ISO 14001, energy management system – ISO 50001 and information security management mark- ISO 27001. This year, the Environmental Products Declaration symbol (EPD) was added to the “Diamond Badge” symbol.
Over time, the adoption of these standards earned Termokir international recognition in 2019 from IFAN – the umbrella organization of standards users, for using global and local standards to achieve business excellence and realize its strategic goals.

Sustainability
The anchor of sustainability is embedded in the entire chain of activity, including its organizational, marketing, and operational processes. The energy efficiency of the production lines was expressed by doubling the production products per kWh, reducing the containers for landfilling, and reducing product wastage by recycling raw materials. Company products bear a green mark. In 2012, Termokir became the first company in Israel to use the advanced environmental tool of life cycle analysis to thoroughly examine its products and its operations’ economic, environmental, and social impacts. Today, most of the Company’s products have undergone LCA analysis, and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) reports have been made.
Thermokir completed an LCA analysis for all its products, and confirmed their verification, through EPD reports.
Termokir is a leader in the field of green construction in Israel – as a founding member of the Israeli Green Building Council; in industrial symbiosis – in cooperation with the regulator, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Energy, the Manufacturers ‘Association, the Builders’ Association and more; and worldwide – with the DOW + IOC concerns in a program to reduce carbon emissions. The holistic view of sustainability is also related to social aspects: Termokir works to strengthen the local economy by encouraging the development of blue-and-white products.
Local production in joint development with SAKRET achieves a double benefit: strengthening local economic resilience and saving transportation, which reduces ecological damage. Since 2003, Termokir has prioritized locally produced products, provided they meet international standards and are in line with market prices. For this, Termokir won the outstanding industrialist award in blue-and-white purchases. All of said activities earned Termokir a variety of honors and titles: “Green Factory,” “Selected Signal Cleantech 2010”, “Green Globe” for 2012, Ministry of Environmental Protection Award for Emissions Reporting of Greenhouse Gases for 2013, Winner of the “Industry in the Environment 2015” competition, and more.
