About Super- Pharm (stores and central office)


Super-Pharm was founded in 1978 by the Koffler Family, and today is Israel's leading pharmacy chain. There are now 285 Super-Pharm stores across the country operated by franchisees, 78 stores in Poland, and an online website. In 2022, the Company expanded its activities by purchasing the Erroca chain and converting it into the Optica chain. Moreover, the Company entered other areas of activity through new sub-formats: medicines and toiletries, GALLERY, an experiential store in the field of beauty, which this year opened another store in Eilat, and Beauty Clinic - a chain of advanced aesthetics clinics that is expanding its clinic layout.

At Super-Pharm stores, one can find a wide variety of medicines, health products, vitamins, minerals, cosmetics, optics, toiletries, and baby products. Sales turnover for 2022, including international activities in Poland, totaled NIS 6 billion. Its business success, retail innovation, marketing, advertising methods, network structure, and operations have made Super-Pharm a role model.
Super Pharm’s strength stems from its human side. The quality employees who work at the chain’s stores – are the chain’s most important asset. The franchise companies that operate the chain’s stores employ 9,000 people nationwide in various positions and provide professional, efficient, and discreet service to 5.4 million consumers each month.

Pharmacies
Super-Pharm stores are pharmacies that serve health maintenance fund-insured parties and private consumers, and offer a wide variety of medicines, natural products, nutritional supplements, and dermo-cosmetics.

Cosmetics
Besides the brands of the significant companies sold at the branches, Super-Pharm imports cosmetic and care brands that are unique to it to offer its consumers a differentiated experience – ONLY AT.

Optics
In 2023, Super-Pharm completed acquisition of the Erroca sunglass chain, with its 60 branches. The optics departments operating at Super-Pharm branches and specializing in the professional field of eyeglasses, merged with Erroca under the ERROCA BY SUPER-PHARM brand name. These days, Super-Pharm is converting Erroca stores into an optics chain that will offer professional vision tests by qualified optometrists, along with a variety of eyeglasses and sunglasses from the world’s leading brands.

Life
Super-Pharm is the pioneer of the private label concept in Israel and has offered private brands at affordable prices since 1995. The Life private label dominates a long list of categories, including toiletries, medicines, vitamins, food, and baby products.

Online
In 2017, Super-Pharm launched its online shopping site that offers a variety of products sold in its stores. The orders can be picked up from the store within 3 hours or delivered to the consumer’s home. Later on, Super-Pharm expanded its activities and began to operate a marketplace that offers products from sellers in a variety of fields, such as electrical goods, sporting goods, furniture, fashion and toys, besides the familiar variety of categories identified with it.

GALLERY – an experiential store in the field of cosmetics that offers a wide variety of leading beauty brands.
Beauty Clinic – a chain of medical aesthetics clinics, specializing in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery.

The Franchisees – The Partner Method
Super-Pharm operates under a unique franchising method. The franchisor is referred to as an associate. The associate is the owner of the company that operates the store. The fixed assets, the licenses and the financial credits, as well as the marketing support and the terms of trade – come from the central office. This method incentivizes the associate to succeed, enables a path of progress and achieves the best results for Super-Pharm and its associates. The associate is usually promoted from within the chain after the requisite professional and managerial training.

Career Development Track
Super-Pharm offers store employees long-term career paths. Most of the chain’s managers have advanced over time from junior positions to management positions: from shift managers, department managers to associates. In addition, the central office of Super-Pharm has some 400 employees, and a variety of positions are offered there as well. Each store employee designated for management positions undergoes training at the Koffler Retail Academy – Super-Pharm’s University.

University for Store Employees
Super-Pharm stores invest heavily in the training, enrichment and development of store employees at the “Koffler Retail Academy,” managed by Super-Pharm. The Academy has five professional faculties: management, pharmacy, service, cosmetics, and optics. Each faculty has three main tracks – basic, advanced, and a track for senior retail.

Contribution to the Community
Super-Pharm believes in involvement and contribution to the community and puts the fight against domestic violence at the top of its agenda. Under this framework, in 2021 Super-Pharm began a program that aims to make accessible to the public the signs that allow the identification of emotional, physical, or economic violence in the immediate environment. To this end, Super-Pharm has established a content complex on its website that refers directly to organizations and non-profit organizations active in the field. In addition, Super-Pharm annually makes several donations to various non-profit organizations, including the Juvenile Diabetes Association (Leon Koffler, Chairman of Super-Pharm, is the President), the Haim Non-Profit Association, Variety, assistance centers for victims of sexual assault, and more.
Employee Satisfaction
Super-Pharm endeavors to monitor the level of satisfaction of the employees of the associated stores and the head office. Super-Pharm participates in the employee satisfaction survey that CofaceBdi has held for several years. The survey findings show that the satisfaction of the employees of Super-Pharm stores and the central office is significantly higher than the average in the economy – in general, and in the industry in particular, it receives the highest marks. The strength of the Super-Pharm brand is a criterion that receives an exceptionally high score among the employees of the stores and the central office, as well as the excellent working relationships at the stores, mood, and atmosphere.
