Pri Vayerek Tamra was established in 1980 by Kassem Abualhiga and was run as a private business. In 1987, following the its success and the extensive expansion of its activities, a partnership was established with Tnuva. The purpose of the partnership was to outsource Tnuva’s wholesale and logistical operations in fruits and vegetables. Subsequently, the partnership was extended to all of Tnuva’s wholesale operations. In 2003, with the sale of Tnuva, Kassem Abualhiga re-acquired its share in the partnership and became its sole owner.

Kassem Abualhiga many years of experience and reputation provide security and peace of mind to farmers from across the country who provide the partnership with their produce and the retailers who purchase it. The Company maintains business relationships with most of the leading farms in the industry, suppliers of agricultural produce, as well as with all leading packing houses in Israel. Tamra Fruits and Vegetables helps small growers and private and local retailers market their produce if they cannot manage their own logistics centers and marketing and distribution systems.

Fast Delivery Nationwide

Most agricultural produce is transported to Pri Vayerek Tamra logistic centers by the growers and packing houses. Pri Vayerek Tamra has many employees and distribution trucks and offers a comprehensive and high-quality range of fresh produce (from Israel and abroad), with fast and reliable delivery nationwide – from Metula in the north to Kibbutz Eilot in the south.

One of the salient advantages of Pri Vayerek Tamra is the wide variety of agricultural produce it offers consumers, all under one roof, and the high quality of the goods. All fruits and vegetables are thoroughly inspected upon receipt and before shipment.

Pri Vayerek Tamra is committed to providing prompt service to suppliers and consumers while maintaining operational flexibility, accuracy, and efficiency – and the results – all fruits and vegetables will come directly from the field or from the importer to the business.

Consumers interested in this can choose, purchase and collect their produce from the Company’s warehouse in Tamra and receive close personal service. A consumer can also place an order by phone, with delivery within two hours to the business. The Company offers a unique option for private collection of agricultural produce intended for the Arab sector and the Eastern community.

365 Days a Year, 24 Hours a Day

Pri Vayerek Tamra employees work 365 days a year, in three shifts: during the eight in the evening until four in the morning shift, they receive produce from the field and prepare the orders; during the shift from four in the morning until twelve in the afternoon, the first sales and marketing takes place. Another shift for sales and marketing runs from noon to 8 at night, allowing flexibility for consumers who collect produce from the Company’s logistics complexes.

Import of Fruits and Vegetables From Abroad

To expand its portfolio, Pri Vayerek Tamra imports a variety of quality fruits and vegetables from abroad. In 2017, it began importing fruits and later began importing vegetables (tomatoes and onions), all subject to market conditions and government approval. The Company stresses the import of only quality produce from the leading suppliers abroad. All produce is approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The need to import fruits and vegetables, in addition to marketing the produce of Israeli farmers, stemmed from a growing demand from consumers in the country for a wider basket of fruits and vegetables at affordable prices and throughout the year. Pri Vayerek Tamra imports seasonal fruits and vegetables, while maintaining a supply sequence from the beginning of the season until the end. Despite the success and skill of Israeli growers to extend the growing seasons, the additional costs involved because of Israel’s climatic conditions makes the process uneconomic for them and the produce too expensive for consumers.

The Secret of Success

Over time, Kassem Abualhiga sons became involved in the Company’s active management: the procurement function in Israel and abroad is managed by the eldest son, Adv. Nidal Abualhiga, while the marketing, sales and administration function is managed by the youngest son, Nahad Abualhiga.
