Asher Avitan, Attorney and Notary, holds an L.L. M. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is a recognized Mediator, and has practiced law since 2007.
Attorney Avitan specializes in labor law, and also lectures and provides training in labor law through the Institute of Tax Consultants in Israel. For over a decade he has served as “Special Manager” and handles complex litigation issues and offers strategic advice to companies, inter alia, on the following issues: restriction of practice, non-competition, class actions, proceedings before the Ministry of Labor, prevention orders and the like. Attorney Avitan also serves as an arbitrator in labor law and routinely is interviewed in the media on labor law issues.
Contribution to the community
The Firm believes in accepting responsibility and involvement in the community. For the past four years, the Firm has provided pro bono counsel to “Yad Sarah” (an extensive Israeli non-profit organization which works closely with the homebound and elderly, under a budget of $23 million). This contribution gives meaning and essence to both the Firm and Yad Sarah.
Jonathan Wasserrteil, LL.B. Has practiced law since 2014. Attorney Wasserrteil’s practice centers on civil law, but mainly labor law, tort law, bodily injury, real estate, National Health Institute issues, corporate law, and also counsel for State medical committees in Jerusalem on work-related accidents, bodily injuries, and road accidents.
Moreover, he also specializes in corporate liquidations, bankruptcies, and filing claims on behalf of employees and other creditors.
Labor Law
The Firm specializes as a boutique law firm in labor law and litigation and offers its clients comprehensive legal advice covering contracts, employment agreements, retirement agreements, representation in labor courts, including civil and criminal proceedings with the Ministry of Labor, prevention and discrimination orders. The Firm counsels employers and employees during employment-related hearings.
The Firm has established the “Oved Aitzot” internet portal site (available in Hebrew only) which offers advice and tips on the employee-employer relationship. The Firm understands that the field of labor law is complex, and requires the attorney to have particular legal expertise in labor law and that the uniqueness of labor law differs from ordinary law, inter alia, in the law of evidence and document discovery procedures.
Civil and Commercial Litigation
The Firm represents clients in all judicial instances. Attorneys Avitan and Wasserrteil are litigators with extensive experience and many court appearances. Court case management requires strong capabilities ranging from strategy formulation, a serious understanding of the legal issues involved, the quality of the attorney’s appearance before the courts and a thorough presentation of the issues involved.
