Hod Assaf Industries Ltd. is one of Israel's leading manufacturers of steel bars for construction, welded mesh for concrete reinforcement as well as galvanized and drawn wire. The company performs all the stages of steel production for the construction industry. After the scrap is collected and processed, it is melted into billets in the melting shop. At the rolling mill the billets are then rolled into bars and rods, which are then processed into steel bars and reinforcing welded mesh at the company's processing plants located in the North and South of Israel. Hod's products are used by hundreds of Israeli companies in the fields of construction, infrastructure, industry, security and agriculture.

Company's Products
Steel manufacturing process – The Company's Steel Processing Plant located in Acre, purchases metal scrap and processes it. The Company's melting shop melts down the processed metal scrap in its furnaces and processes it through a continuous casting machine, recycling it into steel billets. The steel billets are then used by the Company's Rolling Mill in Kiryat Gat for manufacturing reinforcing steel bars and coils, as well as wire rods for the production of welded mesh, wire and fences.
Construction Steel – Hod operates two steel Processing Plants, providing quick and efficient service to customers throughout Israel.
Reinforcing Welded Mesh – Hod's Processing Plants in Acre and Kiryat Gat manufacture a broad range of high quality welded mesh (standard and non-standard) up to 3.3m wide for concrete reinforcement. These plants also manufacture welded galvanized mesh for fencing and further construction and security applications.
Assembled and Welded Elements – Hod's plants produce welded elements for various construction applications including columns, beams and bridge girders.
Fences and Concertinas – Hod manufactures a broad variety of fences, including mesh and welded fencing and a wide range of concertinas and barbed wire for both civil and defense purposes.
Wires and Auxiliary Products – From coils and galvanized wires, Hod manufactures high and low tensile strength cold drawn black and galvanized wires for industrial applications. Some of these galvanized steel wires are exported directly or as part of finished products manufactured by Hod or by Hod's clients. Hod produces a broad range of galvanized wire with commercial or heavy galvanization used for various industrial and agricultural applications. Hod produces expanded mesh and further products used for indoor plastering.
Subsidiaries
Hod has diversified its investments by establishing or purchasing a number of companies.
S.C. Sirme Si Cabluri – A Romanian company which manufactures steel ropes for cranes, mines, anchors and other applications. S.C. Sirme Si Cabluri also produces a wide range of galvanized and drawn wire, barbed wire, nails and other products. A substantial part of its production is exported to EU countries.
Oron International S.R.L. (50%) – Based in Romania, this company which has been established in 2004, trades in steel products in the Romanian local market.
Hod Zamir (60%) – Hod-Zamir has a great deal of experience and a solid reputation as a supplier of building tools. The subsidiary constitutes a synergetic addition to Hod’s activities, broadening its range of services.
Iskol Trade – This fully owned subsidiary of Hod Zamir, processes and trades timber mostly for building and communication industries.
Hod Global Wire Ltd. – During the year of the 2008 the company acquired Global Wire Ltd.'s plant located in Netivot. The plant, operated by Hod's fully owned subsidiary, Hod Global Wire Ltd., specializes in the production of both copper and aluminum wires and cables for electrical and control purposes. The plant sells its products in the Israeli market as well as the international market.
