TOS System – The Terminal Operating System (TOS), in which a sum of $6 million was invested, provides a clear competitive advantage by means of efficient and controlled management of the Port's work, optimum utilization of equipment and resources and improved customer service. ERP System – With the aim of improving and maximizing contact between the Ashdod Port and its customers, the company has implemented an innovative ERP system for management and control of operational, logistic and financial procedures. In addition to the TOS and ERP, cutting edge systems assist in managing various activities such as GPS for cargo and ship traffic and GIS for mapping and documenting infrastructures, billing, administration and organization, information analysis and decision making and maintenance.
New Gate Project
The New Gate is the crowning glory of Company technology: A central automatic gate for delivery trucks operated via an advanced computerized system, incorporating computerized identification of traffic licenses and container numbers • 32 lanes each featuring a truck weighing scale • Camera surveillance of each truck • Internet applications to provide drivers with updates and responses to queries via text messages.
Grain Conveyor Belt and Cranes
The Company signed an international contract to equip itself with two pneumatic cranes for unloading grain vessels at a budget of 3 1/2 million euros with the German NEUERO company. The objective of the project is to provide a response for the increasing need to handle grains via ships visiting the port of Ashdod, and to provide an ecological response to the problem of the leakage of grains in the unloading areas. The unloading capacity of the two cranes is 600 tons per hour for each unit.
