The company was originally founded in 1946 by Haim Alony. In 1992 the company went public in Tel Aviv, but in 2009 went back to being a private company. The company is currently owned by Inrom Industries (owned by the FIMI Fund) and Amir Rapaport.
Besides Alony, Inrom Industries also owns Ytong, Nirlat, Carmit, Urdan, and Orlite.
Production and Marketing Alony is a retail chain in the field of building finishings, with independent production capabilities. Alony has two factories in Haifa that specialize in flooring products – the first plant, specializes in processing and cutting marble, while the second plant, manufactures Terrazzo tiles, and is the largest in its field in Israel.
Besides its manufacturing plants in Israel, Alony also imports branded quality products. The main imports are from Italy and Spain, with the emphasis on quality products and brands. Alony has exclusivity agreements with leading companies, such as ROCA, a Spanish company and the world's largest manufacturer of bathroom fixtures; GLOBO, a prestigious Italian company, MGS, an American company, which has acquired deep respect for the environment and manufactures products made from 100% stainless steel, ensuring that lead or other toxic particles cannot penetrate drinking water, and INLE, a manufacturer of products made from Burmese teak.
Nationwide Retail Chain Alony has nine showrooms located throughout Israel, in B'nei Brak (Le'Hi Street), Haifa, Jerusalem, Hadera, Ra'anana, Rishon Le'Zion, Beersheba, with surplus outlets in Petah Tikva and Haifa.
The Le'Hi Street showroom in B'nei Brak opened in early 2012 and is Alony's flagship store. In planning and designing the showroom, emphasis was placed on natural materials and distinctive showroom boutiques were created, including a marble boutique, a Terrazzo boutique, and a parquet flooring boutique. This exquisitly-designed showroom offers a warm and supporting environment, allowing the customer to more easily differentiate between the various product families.
The innovation is also evident in the manner of presentation of new products, new product categories and a return of marble and Terrazzo to the forefront of Alony's product line.

Alony, Israel's leader in Terrazzo is developing a new product line in flooring and offers a wide range of designs - a collection in the spirit of Venice (the source of Terrazzo), a modern design collection, and an outdoor collection. Alony's new Terrazzo tiles are more ecologically friendly and most complex that aggregates made of Italian marble. Alony's new Terrazzo tiles are better in quality, more slimmer and are available in a range of sizes. Alony and Marble There is a strong bond between Alony and marble, which for decades has constituted one of its key strengths. The plant's technology enables the production of tiles in various sizes, as well as processing and cutting of additional marble products such as stairs, cornices, columns, banisters, window ledges etc.
